Role Overview
The Receptionist will manage patient check-ins and check-outs, book follow-up appointments, and handle queries from patients and clinical staff. The role requires flexibility, excellent time management, and strong communication skills. You’ll work closely with the Paediatric Administrator and clinical team to ensure smooth clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Book follow-up appointments and manage clinic schedules
* Check in and check out patients at the reception desk
* Handle queries from patients and clinical staff
* Support the Paediatric Administrator in clinic coordination
* Maintain accurate records and uphold confidentiality
* Use IT systems to manage appointments and patient data
Required Skills and Experience
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
* Numerate and literate
* Experience using IT packages
* Ability to plan and organise tasks within set timescales
* Strong communication skills (telephone, email, face-to-face)
* Ability to follow procedures and manage time effectively
* Basic IT skills (Microsoft Outlook)
* Attention to detail and adaptability
* Ability to work under pressure and safeguard confidential documents
* GCSE A–C or equivalent
* Experience in customer service or reception
* Previous NHS or medical records experience
* Experience in call handling
* Ability to touch type
