Job Title: Finance Business Partner

Location: National

Hours: Home-based 40 hours – Monday to Friday (ability to travel to London is required)

Who is Chevron Traffic Management?

In simple terms, Chevron Traffic Management is the company that sets up temporary road or lane closures, diversion routes or pedestrian walkways to keep road workers and road users safe while roadworks are underway. This involves putting out road cones, signage, temporary traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, and barriers. Our work is visible all over the country.

It is, of course, much more complicated than that. It involves consulting, planning, designing, estimating and liaising with our suppliers and our customers to ensure that our schemes are fit for purpose. It also involves innovation and technology so we can improve safety and help our industry to reduce our carbon footprint.

About the role of Finance Business Partner:

As our strategic Business Partner, you'll play a pivotal role in aligning operational execution with long-term business objectives. You’ll combine deep financial analysis with high-impact leadership across cross-functional teams, ensuring decisions are data-driven, commercially sharp, and future-focused.

Key responsibilities for a Finance Business Partner:

10. Production of timely and accurate financial reports, including P&L and working capital schedules
11. Prepare and present key monthly management information, including variance analysis and KPI trends
12. Drive annual budgeting and forecasting cycles
13. Champion cost efficiency initiatives and process improvement project
14. Management and preparation of an appropriate suite of KPI’s
15. Oversee, review and develop commercial & financial systems and processes
16. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
17. Support the long-term strategic planning and decision-making process
18. Identify and mitigate financial risks
19. Challenge and mentor the commercial and finance teams
20. Support pricing, bidding and client negotiations
21. Foster an environment where every commercial and finance professional in the business has an opportunity to reach their full potential
22. Lead the cost management agenda in the business to help drive year-on-year cost efficiencies to generate operational improvements
23. Oversee capital investment appraisals within the business
24. Ensure that any projects with major financial funding implications are subject to an appropriate level of financial expertise, commercial acumen and business risk analysis
25. Continuously monitor, evaluate, and improve financial processes and systems

About you:

We are looking for a well-developed leadership and management professional with an open and inclusive approach to business. You are commercially astute and results-driven, a robust self-starter who works well under pressure. A team player, you can challenge positively and debate confidently. You work with integrity and possess strong negotiation skills and determination.

Attributes for a Finance Business Partner:

26. Qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
27. Senior finance management experience
28. Experience managing small teams
29. Strong data analysis
30. Flexible to travel as and when required
31. Right to work in the UK unsponsored
32. Full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points and no bans in the last 5 years
33. Experience in month-end processes
34. Previous financial & commercial experience within a B2B contracting environment
35. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
36. Strong problem-solving skills
37. Technical proficiency in relevant software (eg Excel, ERP systems, Power BI etc)
38. Leadership qualities, including the ability to mentor and develop team members
