Mechanical Estimator

An established and growing M&E contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join its mechanical estimating team based in Romford.

Role Overview
You will be responsible for pricing mechanical services tenders across a range of sectors, working on projects typically valued between £1m and £20m. The role requires strong technical understanding, commercial awareness, and the ability to produce accurate and competitive tenders.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation and submission of mechanical tenders from first principles
* Pricing projects ranging from £1m-£20m
* Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
* Preparing detailed take-offs, labour plans, and cost breakdowns
* Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations
* Identifying risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost savings
* Supporting tender adjudications and handover to delivery teams
* Working closely with senior estimators and commercial management
Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the UK M&E sector
* Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services systems
* Experience pricing mid-to-large scale mechanical packages
* Good understanding of current market rates and procurement strategies
* Strong IT skills, including estimating software and Microsoft Excel

* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced estimating environment
