Job Summary
Report to General Manager. The candidate is responsible for maintaining the building, grounds and physical plant with particular attention towards safety, security and asset protection. The candidate is also accountable for managing the budget, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance and energy conservation, as well as developing and implementing strategies that will deliver products and services, which meet or exceed the needs and expectations of guests and employees while maximizing the financial performance.
Major Functions
* Work with property and regional engineering management to ensure the team is performing against budget
* Manage the physical plant including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment and electrical systems in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
* Develop engineering operating strategy that is aligned with the property/brand’s business strategy
* Maintain and ensure safety systems, building & equipment licenses are current and complied with local regulations
* Lead the emergency response team for all facility issues
Job Specifications
* Degree in Building Services Engineering or related disciplines
* At least 8 years’ experience in property management, experience in hotel industry is preferred
* Knowledge in AutoCAD/MS Office/ Transcendent is preferred
* MBSOMES / MHKIE / MCIBSE
* Strong interpersonal skills with analytical mind, influential to drive results
* Pro-active, detail-minded, positive attitude and willing to take up challenges
* Good communication in English and Cantonese
* Candidate with less experience will be considered as Chief Engineer
