Legal Counsel – Commercial - UK & USLondon (Hybrid – 4 days per week in office)£120,000 basic salaryPermanent RoleRole Overview:Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment are presently representing an international extended-stay hospitality business in their search for an In House Legal Counsel to join their team.The successful candidate would take ownership of all legal matters across the business with a key focus on Commercial Law and Employment Law for our client's UK and US entities. You would also focus on legal matters arising around facilities and operations. You will manage legal affairs internally while strategically engaging external counsel when necessary.Key Accountabilities:Commercial LawDraft, review, and negotiate client contracts and commercial agreementsHandle urgent client and employee contract requirementsManage vendor agreements and supplier contractsAdvise on business transactions and commercial risk managementEnsure compliance with commercial regulations and industry standardsEmployment & HR LawDraft and review employment contracts and policiesAdvise on HR matters including disciplinary procedures, redundancies, and employment disputesEnsure compliance with UK employment law and regulationsSupport international employment matters across our global operationsManage employee relations legal issuesFacilities & OperationsHandle property and facilities-related legal mattersReview lease agreements and property contractsManage regulatory compliance for business operationAdvise on health and safety legal requirementsLegal Operations ManagementServe as primary legal resource across all business functionsMaintain and update legal documentation and processesManage relationships with external legal counselImplement cost-effective legal solutions to reduce external counsel dependencyConduct legal risk assessments and provide strategic advice to leadershipAbout You:UK qualified solicitorMinimum 5-7 years post-qualification experienceStrong commercial law background with in-house experience preferredExperience in employment law and HR legal mattersUS law experienceExperience working with international business structuresUnderstanding of cross-border legal requirements
