Immigration Enforcement is responsible for enforcing the government’s immigration laws, tackling illegal migration, removing foreign national offenders and immigration offenders from the UK. Reporting and Offender Management (ROM) teams are an integral part of the Immigration Enforcement Strategy and work within the Immigration, Compliance and Enforcement team (ICE). This opportunity would suit an individual who enjoys working as part of a team and thrives in a dynamic environment. ROM Teams are part of the Immigration Enforcement team and are a key element of delivering enforced removals and promoting voluntary departure, contributing towards reducing the size of the illegal population present in the UK. They are responsible for achieving key objectives that include; meaningful contact that encourages voluntary return, management of a reporting population that drives compliance and progressing cases towards enforced return or other case conclusion ROM are responsible for the attendance and management of a large number of Immigration offenders, who, due to their current circumstances and conditions of their Immigration bail are required to maintain contact with the Home Office. Those who are required to report are asylum seekers, immigration offenders and high harm individuals. Contact with the reporting population can be via numerous formats including face to face attendance. ROM teams monitor bail and reporting regimes, promote voluntary returns, identify those suitable for an enforced removal, detain those liable for removal and obtain intelligence. ROM Belfast manages cases reporting to the Belfast Reporting Centre and at police stations across Northern Ireland. The ROM function proactively contributes towards a reduction in the number of illegal immigrants present in the UK and the successful candidates will undertake a range of duties, which supports this strategy. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to): Progressing cases to conclusion and planning and assisting with the detention and removal of Immigration Offenders. Management of day-to-day reporting centre operations in line with operational requirements including overseeing contact management with those who are required to report, ensuring new cases are placed on appropriate reporting schedules and that cases are reviewed regularly and appropriately. Conducting face to face interviews to gain further information and promote voluntary departure and being able to deal appropriately with resistance and having challenging conversations. Working collaboratively and develop strong working relationships across all relevant teams and stakeholders to deliver business outcomes. Documenting interviews to assist in case progression and obtaining documentation for those liable to removal from the UK. Identifying, signposting and referring high harm, vulnerable and other such cases for action cases requiring additional considerations. Preparing reports and carrying out enquiries into those who fail to report. Responsibility for all administrative aspects of tasking including monitoring levels of tasking and updating computer systems on time and with quality information. Working Pattern This role is available on a full-time basis. This role is also suitable for part-time working hours, with a minimum requirement to work 3 days / 22.12 hours per week due to business requirements. Travel Requirement to travel and work in other regional locations, such as police stations, in order to carry out ROM/ICE functions. Training You will receive full training and support to do the job. Training will take place on the job. Even then you are never alone; you work as part of a team where there is always someone around for advice and support. This role can be physically demanding and if successful you will be required to complete and pass Personal Safety Training (PST) Level 2 which develops skills in personal safety techniques.
