About Us: At SHG, we are committed to excellence in social housing and local government services. Our Assurance team plays a crucial role in ensuring we stay ahead of sector developments and maintain compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
Role Overview: As an Assurance Manager, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team responsible for strategy and policy development, insurance, and information governance. Your role will involve ensuring SHG remains compliant with all relevant regulations and legislation, while driving strategic functions to reshape services and respond effectively to new challenges.
Key Responsibilities: You will contribute to developing and implementing strategies and policies that meet business needs and regulatory requirements. Collaborating with teams to ensure compliance with Consumer Standards, maintaining and enhancing insurance services, defending claims, and leading information governance initiatives will be key. Providing expert advice and producing high-quality reports for senior leadership, staying updated on sector developments, and implementing new legislation and best practices are also essential duties.
About You: Success in this role requires strong knowledge of social housing and local government issues, experience in shaping strategic and operational processes with diverse stakeholders, inspirational leadership skills, and the ability to motivate and role model SHG’s ASPIRE Values. You should have excellent problem-solving, communication, and influencing skills, be resilient, autonomous, and able to work around political sensitivities. Flexibility to attend evening meetings is also necessary.
