Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours/week. Must be able to cover 5 out of 7 days, including weekends, between 07:00 – 18:00.
Pay: £12.75 – £21.55 per hour, plus enhanced pay for weekends and bank holidays

Join our friendly catering team at Ormskirk Hospital, where every dish you prepare makes a real difference to patients and staff. From daily menu planning to handling special diets, you’ll have the opportunity to showcase your skills, work in a supportive environment, and help us deliver exceptional food experiences across the Trust.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and cook meals, including special diets and cook-chill/freeze products.
* Follow hygiene and food safety standards at all times.
* Plan daily work, manage cooking times and methods, and adjust menus when needed.
* Communicate menu changes and dietary info to staff and patients.
* Monitor stock, rotate stores, and flag any issues affecting menus.
* Support waste management and ordering of supplies.
* Respond to patient and service user queries.
* Assist the Catering Manager and Team Leader with departmental changes.
Requirements:
* Qualified Chef (NVQ 7061/2 or equivalent).
* Level 2 Food Safety Certificate.
* Experience in a catering or food service environment.
* Knowledge of dietary requirements, food preparation, and hygiene standards.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team.
