Role Overview

Are you passionate about people, culture, and making a real difference at work? Do you thrive in a varied, hands-on role where you can shape how people feel, perform, and grow? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

As Senior HR Generalist- People & Culture, you'll play a key role in supporting ETL's growth journey by delivering high-impact HR support across the full employee lifecycle. You'll work closely with managers and teams to build an inclusive, high-performing culture, while helping shape and evolve our HR processes, policies, and people initiatives.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys both operational delivery and strategic influence—bringing energy, ideas, and insight to a business where people are truly at the heart of what we do.

Key Accountabilities

As a key support to our people managers, you'll play a vital role in enabling confident, consistent, and values-led leadership across ETL. You'll be the go-to expert for HR guidance, helping managers navigate challenges, build capability, and create great employee experiences.

* Partner with managers to provide expert HR advice and coaching across all areas of people management, building confidence and capability.
* Support day-to-day HR operations, ensuring smooth, consistent, and people-focused delivery across your business area.
* Lead and guide employee relations cases, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant outcomes that reflect our values.
* Use HR data and insights to identify trends, inform decisions, and champion improvements in engagement, retention, and performance.
* Maintain and evolve HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are compliant, relevant, and aligned with ETL's culture and growth.
* Deliver strategic HR initiatives, including workforce planning, restructuring, talent management, and employee engagement.
* Lead and support people projects from scoping through to post-implementation review, contributing to the delivery of the ETL People Strategy.
* Champion employee wellbeing, supporting mental, physical, and emotional health through proactive initiatives and services.
* Collaborate closely with the wider People Team, sharing knowledge, supporting development, and contributing to a high-performing HR function.

Our ideal candidate

You're an experienced HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, growing environment. You know how to deliver across the full employee lifecycle and have a natural ability to coach, influence, and build trusted relationships with managers and teams. You bring a genuine passion for people and culture, with a proactive mindset and a drive to make a meaningful impact. You're confident shaping HR best practices, developing policies, and leading change that supports both business growth and employee wellbeing.

You're emotionally intelligent, resilient and collaborative, someone who leads by example and inspires others to do the same. You're energised by the opportunity to help shape an inclusive, high-performing culture where people feel valued, supported and empowered to thrive.

We're open-minded about where great HR talent comes from.

You might be:

* A brilliant HR Advisor ready to step up into a Business Partner role
* A generalist HR professional looking to grow and stretch your skills
* Someone with experience in recruitment, L&D, or reward who's supported wider people initiatives and is now ready to move into a broader HR role
* An experienced HRBP looking for a fresh challenge (we're flexible on the job title if you're the right fit)

If you're passionate about people, ready to make a difference, and excited to grow with a business that's going places, this could be the perfect next step.

Desirables

* Proven experience in a generalist HR role, ideally within a fast-paced or growing organisation.
* Previous experience supporting employee relations (ER) cases with confidence and professionalism.
* Excellent working knowledge of UK employment law and key employee matters (e.g. absence, pay & reward, pensions, wellbeing).
* CIPD Level 5 qualification (or working towards), or equivalent relevant experience.
* Experience developing and implementing HR policies and supporting change initiatives.
* Strong analytical skills and intuition to interpret data, spot trends, and translate insights into meaningful action.
* HRIS experience; IRIS Cascade knowledge is an advantage.
* A clear and influential communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
* High attention to detail, process-driven, and committed to confidentiality and integrity.
* A discreet and professional approach to handling sensitive matters.
* A collaborative team player who supports others and contributes to shared goals.
* Experience in manufacturing or engineering environments is advantageous but not essential
