Pay Rate: Band 6 - 27 Umbrella equivalent
About the Role
Biggleswade CMHT is seeking an experienced Band 6 Social Worker to join its Community Mental Health Team serving the North Eastern corner of Central Bedfordshire, including Biggleswade, Sandy, Potton, Shefford, Arlesey, and surrounding villages. This locum opportunity offers flexible working and the chance to make a real difference within a supportive, multi-disciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide person-centred social care interventions to adults with mental health needs
2. Carry out assessments, care planning, reviews, and safeguarding enquiries in line with Care Act duties
3. Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team including nurses, psychologists, psychiatrists, and occupational therapists
4. Liaise with families, carers, and partner agencies to ensure coordinated care
5. Maintain accurate records and documentation according to professional standards and Trust policies
6. Participate in team meetings, reflective practice sessions, and ongoing service development

Requirements
1. Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
2. Experience within a community mental health setting
3. Good working knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Health Act, and safeguarding processes
4. Excellent communication, assessment, and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
