Our Special Educational Needs and Mental Health (SEMH) school in Thetford is seeking an inspiring SENCO to join our supportive, forward-thinking team. You’ll play a vital role in shaping the educational experiences of pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, ensuring every learner is given the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and personally.
About the Role
Lead and coordinate the provision for pupils with special educational needs, ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice.
Work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver targeted interventions and personalised learning plans.
Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to secure the best outcomes for students.
Use your STEM expertise to promote curiosity, problem-solving, and confidence in learning across the curriculum.
Contribute to a nurturing and inclusive school culture that celebrates progress in all its forms.
About You
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and National SENCO Award (or willingness to complete).
Experience working within an SEN or SEMH setting.
Strong understanding of behaviour regulation, trauma-informed practice, and individualised support strategies.
STEM background or specialism is highly beneficial, enthusiasm for creative, hands-on learning is essential.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
