The Training Coordinator Role
The Training Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring that framework and project teams hold the required role-specific competencies to satisfy; legal requirements, the client's SQEP (Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel) and Appointed Persons process, SRM internal requirements. They will work closely with the project teams, SRM Health, Safety, and Wellbeing (HS&W) Team and Learning and Development team to identify any training and development needs and arrange training to meet them.
The Training Coordinator reports to and works closely with the HS&W team to support other key HS&W processes, such as Occupational Health Strategy and Reporting. This role helps maintain a robust training compliance system, ensuring all personnel meet the necessary competency requirements and supporting the project's overall health, safety, and wellbeing objectives
Your profile
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Experience in training coordination or competency management on construction or infrastructure projects.
* Strong knowledge of SQEP and Appointed Persons processes.
* Experience maintaining training records, databases, and compliance tracking systems.
* Strong administrative and organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Experience liaising with clients, subcontractors, and training providers.
* Familiarity with industry training standards (e.g., CSCS, CPCS, NVQs, IOSH, NEBOSH)
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database management tools for training tracking.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Experience working on NEC4 contracts or large-scale construction projects.
* Knowledge of ISO 9001 or other quality management frameworks.
* Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS).
* Understanding of health & safety legislation related to training compliance.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
