Are you a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with experience in mental health?
We are looking for someone with previous Band 7 experience to take on a clinical and operational leadership role in a friendly, supportive and dedicated service.
If so, an opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and dynamicDeputy Team Manager to join Oak Team in the City and NE Oxfordshire Adult Mental Health Team (AMHT) in Oxford.
This is a qualified and ambitious individual with experience in mental health community to continue developing managerial and leadership skills whilst undertaking varied and more complex clinical work.
This is a senior role within a multidisciplinary team that consists of both highly experienced and newly qualified professionals, all committed to delivering high-quality care to individuals experiencing mental health challenges in the local community.
The post holder will be required to work at the base Monday - Friday 9-5pm
Main duties of the job
AsDeputy Team Manager for Oak Team, you will support theConsultant Psychiatrist (Clinical Lead) andTeam Manager (Operational Lead), to provide clinical and leadership support to the wider team.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Act as a clinical expert taking a lead role in advancing the development of clinical practice, providing evidence based holistic patient care within a variety of settings, inclusive of the patients residence and care settings within the community, from undertaking highly complex assessment of presenting condition through to diagnosis, treatment, and discharge, including the administration of medication within agreed clinical guidelines and protocols.
* Co-ordinate the day-to-day clinical activities of the team to ensure the smooth running of the AMHT.
* Manage a small number of patients.
* Providingday-to-day management and clinical supervision to staff, and supporting the ongoing development and performance managementof the team.
* Undertakingclinical duties, including duty shifts, conducting assessments, risk assessing.
* Liaison with other services and stakeholders as required, often acting as a link person for complex situations
* Acting as Duty Manager on a rota that does include weekends and out of hours working (full shadowing support will be provided for those new to this responsibility).
* Deputising for theTeam Manager as required
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Relevant Professional Qualification (RMN)
* Qualification in management and leadership within a healthcare setting
* To hold an advanced professional/clinical qualification (e.g. AMHP, CBT, DBT)
Knowledge and Skills
* Experience of providing leadership
* Experience of working with Adults with acute mental illness
* A specialist knowledge and clinical expertise in community mental health in line with professional requirements
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* To have experience in producing reports and presenting data.
* Previous Management experience within health care settings.
Additional Skills
* To be able to use email, internet, word, spreadsheets and databases
