REED Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a leading Engineering & Manufacturing company.Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning & Execution: Oversee daily/weekly manufacturing operations within a busy steel production siteQuality Control & Compliance: Drive quality control to ensure products meet precise metallurgical specifications, handling material certification and traceability.Process Improvement (Lean Manufacturing): Optimise production processes to improve yield, reduce scrap/rework, and reduce manufacturing costs.Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Implement strict health, safety (HSE), and environmental policies to manage hazards associated with high-temperature processing.Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop production teams (operators/technicians), managing shift patterns and performance.Equipment & Maintenance: Ensure preventative maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment.Material Resource Management: Liaise with procurement to manage inventory of high-value raw materials and consumables. Required Skills and QualificationsTechnical Knowledge: Understanding of steel steel production within a manufacturing environment would be highly advantageousExperience: Proven experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment, particularly in metals or superalloys would be advantageous Quality Standards: Familiarity with industry standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, and NADCAP would be advantageous Analytical & Planning Skills: Strong proficiency in using ERP systems for production planning, along with data analysis to drive efficiency.Leadership: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.The role includes pension, private healthcare and a bonus of up to 15%
