Senior Support Worker – Birmingham
At Cambian Group, you’re not just working – you’re shaping futures. As a Senior Support Worker based in West Midlands, every moment with our young people (ages 8–18) helps them feel safe, valued and supported.
Key idea: small interactions build trust and shape lives. Some days are challenging, but breakthroughs, smiles and progress remind you why this work matters.
What You’ll Do
* Support young people with daily routines: getting them ready for school, meal prep and planning activities.
* Provide a warm, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping.
* Lead shifts and deputise for the home manager.
* Build strong, meaningful relationships and provide emotional support.
* Plan and participate in activities (e.g., trips to the park, movie nights, creative projects).
* Keep essential records to ensure the best possible care.
Where You’ll Do It
The home is registered to accommodate up to two young people. It provides care for children up to age 18 with emotional and/or behavioural difficulties. Hay Park will ensure staff receive training to meet the child’s needs. The home is part of Cambian Group and is registered with Ofsted to provide residential care for young people up to 18 of any gender with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, including experiences such as trauma, neglect, abuse or family breakdown.
Note: We are reopening the home and aiming to provide outstanding, child-centred care packages with targets aligned to each young person’s needs. The care plan is adapted as the young person develops, in line with the local authority care plan.
Our vision is to provide the highest possible level of care in a relaxed, homely environment that enables young people to grow and realise their potential, while developing academic, practical and social skills. We believe self-esteem and holistic well-being are essential for a young person’s development.
