Post Doctoral Researcher - Bioinformaticis – Breast Cancer Genomics
Location:
London - Onsite
Contract Type:
Full-time 3 year FTC
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented
Computational Post Doc
to join our cutting-edge research programme focused on treatment-resistant breast cancers. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the understanding of genomic and transcriptomic determinants of heterogeneity in aggressive breast cancer, using state-of-the-art computational and statistical methods.
You will be working at the interface of computational biology and translational cancer research, you will apply and develop computational approaches to integrate
bulk and single-cell genomic/transcriptomic data with imaging assays
, with the aim of identifying novel mechanisms of therapy resistance and discovering new therapeutic targets.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform integrative analysis of high-throughput molecular profiling data from patient-derived samples and organoids.
* Analyse and validate findings using public genomic and transcriptomic datasets.
* Collaborate closely with experimental and clinical scientists to translate computational discoveries into pre-clinical and translational studies.
* Contribute to the optimisation and extension of computational pipelines for large-scale data processing.
* Communicate findings through scientific publications and presentations in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
Essential Requirements:
* You
must
have a PhD in a
quantitative
field (e.g. bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics, maths).
* Post doc experience is a plus but not a must
* Experience in the analysis of genomic and/or transcriptomic data
* Proficiency in programming and scripting (e.g. R or Python).
* Solid understanding of statistical methods and data integration techniques.
* Exposure to AI/ML
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
This is an opportunity to contribute to impactful cancer research in a world-class institute. You will gain experience in cancer stem cell biology, advanced data science, and statistical modelling while working and learning from world class experts in the field.
We are looking for a proactive, innovative thinker with a strong background in computational biology and a keen interest in cancer research. If this sounds like you please apply to be considered for the role.
