Role:
We are seeking an experienced Loan Operations Team Lead to join a London-based team and support the continued growth of an institutional private debt platform. This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for managing the full operational lifecycle of a diversified private credit portfolio.
The position offers the opportunity to take ownership of loan operations within a growing platform, working closely with senior stakeholders across Investments, Finance, Treasury, and external service providers. The successful candidate will oversee outsourced loan servicing while remaining actively involved in settlements, servicing, and portfolio management.
This role is well suited to an experienced loan operations professional from a private credit manager or investment platform looking for broader ownership, leadership responsibility, and the chance to help build and scale a best-in-class operations function.
Responsibilities:
Loan Lifecycle Management & Portfolio Operations
* Oversee the full loan lifecycle, including deal closing, funding, settlements, drawdowns, repayments, restructurings, and exits
* Maintain accurate loan records, cash flows, and portfolio data across systems
* Review and validate interest calculations, fee accrals, and principal movements
* Support onboarding of new transactions alongside Investment, Legal, and Finance teams
* Produce and validate asset-level IRRs and key performance metrics
* Ensure timely cash management and reconciliation processes
Loan Settlement & Trading Support
* Manage primary and secondary loan settlements via ClearPar
* Coordinate with agent banks, counterparties, and administrators
* Monitor settlement pipelines, resolve breaks, and minimise settlement risk
* Ensure accurate trade capture and reconciliation across systems and records
Oversight of Third-Party Loan Servicing
* Act as the main point of contact for the outsourced loan servicing administrator
* Provide oversight through regular interaction and review of deliverables
* Review and approve notices, payment calculations, reconciliations, and reporting
* Ensure service levels are met and resolve issues promptly
Systems Ownership & Data Integrity
* Act as a key operational owner and subject matter expert for eFront
* Maintain accurate loan setup, cash flows, and counterparty data
* Perform reconciliations across systems and third-party records
* Support system enhancements, automation, and scalability initiatives
Team Leadership & Platform Development
* Manage and develop a Loan Operations team member, with scope to support future growth
* Provide hands-on leadership while implementing scalable processes and controls
* Contribute to building a robust, institutional-quality operations function
Stakeholder Management, Controls & Governance
* Partner with Investments, Finance, Treasury, Risk, Compliance, and external providers
* Support deal execution, audits, and operational initiatives
* Maintain strong operational controls and governance standards
* Identify and mitigate operational risks
Required Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
* Minimum of 7–12+ years’ experience in loan operations within private credit, asset management, banking, or administration
* Strong experience managing private credit or syndicated loan portfolios
* Hands-on experience with ClearPar settlements is essential
* Experience using eFront strongly preferred
* Experience overseeing third-party administrators
* Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
