Pay & Hours
Shift Leader rate of pay starts from £15.59 an hour. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week. If you prefer fewer hours (to a minimum of 12), we have opportunities for that as well.
Responsibilities
* Work in a fast‑paced retail environment, coordinating the store team to deliver an easy, fuss‑free shopping experience while maintaining a clean, well‑stocked store that exceeds customer expectations.
* Own duty shifts, opening and closing the store, ensuring a safe store environment, and taking regular breaks.
* Listen to customers and help them find what they need while providing thoughtful customer service.
* Coach and give feedback to colleagues, guide them in‑store and uphold health and safety routines.
* Maintain a clear understanding of store performance, assist managers with improvement actions, and coordinate seasonal, community and charity events.
* Ensure the store is always clean, tidy and well‑presented, and remove obstacles to great service.
* Keep the team well‑informed on any communications, changes or updates.
* Serve as the go‑to person for colleagues in the absence of a manager for day‑to‑day queries.
* Recognise and celebrate colleagues who provide great service.
* Be a role model and build strong, inclusive relationships within the team, motivating them to deliver beyond expectations.
* Demonstrate clear communication, decision‑making, flexibility and curiosity to look for ideas that serve customers, communities, and the planet.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum age: 18 years old. For shifts before 6:15 am, after 9:45 pm, or for roles in areas such as the warehouse, bakery, or counter, applicants must be older than 18.
Applicants must have passed the school leaver’s age.
We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week; a minimum of 12 hours is also available.
