Job Summary
We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to work closely with the Commercial and Operational Teams, reporting to the Lead Technical Project Manager (UK-based) and work closely with the Senior Technical Specialist (China-based). The role has responsibility for the delivery of a portfolio of projects related to the commercialisation of Echion’s XNO product. The Project Manager will work collaboratively with members of the Commercial and Technical teams who are involved in the delivery of project work.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their project management skills in a technical environment while contributing to cutting-edge battery technology.
This role will initially be offered as a 1-year fixed-term contract, with the exciting potential to extend as we grow our global presence.
The position is based in Dongguan, China, but as part of your journey with Echion, you'll kick things off with a 1-month onboarding period in the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in our business, get hands-on with our cutting-edge technology, and build strong relationships with the wider Echion team at our Cambridge HQ.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage and support a portfolio of projects supporting the commercialisation of Echion’s XNO product.
* Facilitate the planning, definition, execution and monitoring of new projects from initiation to closure.
* Carry out technical discussions with customers and provide translations and interface to the UK-based teams.
* Support day-to-day project management aspects including reporting, and ensuring they are completed on time, within scope and budget.
* Develop detailed project plans, schedules and resource allocation plans in conjunction with the Technical Project Manager to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
* Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
* Meet regularly with project stakeholders and define and ensure collaborative alignment of project goals and objectives with the scope, including in response to findings developed throughout the project.
* Proactively gather feedback from internal stakeholders and incorporate that input to drive continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
* Participate in technical discussions to develop and refine work packages and their deliverables and milestones.
* Support process improvements in project management workflows to enhance efficiency and execution.
* Assist in liaising with third-party service providers and external collaborators.
Education & Qualifications required
·Degree qualified in an engineering or scientific field, ideally with experience in battery subjects.
Experience required
·Fluency in English and Mandarin is essential, both written and verbal.
·Experience working in a technical/commercial role related to battery cell design and manufacturing in China or in Europe is desirable.
·Experience working in a start-up/ scale up business would be beneficial.
·Some project management experience in a technical environment is required - ideally 1+ years of experience or a willingness to undergo training.
· Exposure to project management methodologies and tools is desirable.
Skills & knowledge required
·Prior expertise in battery technology in cell design and manufacturing.
·Training and knowledge of a range of project management methodologies (ideally with certification).
·Very good written, presentation and oral communication skills.
·Ability to create structure in high uncertainty and fast-paced environments.
·High degree of initiative, autonomy, perseverance, and dedication.
·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate.
Success factors for the role
·Successful interactions with all customers (internal/external).
·Supporting projects bearing in mind the relevance to size and velocity of sales pipelines, including sales forecasts.
Other key information
·The role will be based in Dongguan, China.
·Willingness to spend a minimum of 1 month in the UK at the beginning of the contract to enable successful onboarding.
·Willingness to travel domestically on a regular basis as well as to the UK where required.
·The role will initially be offered on a 1-year contract with a potential to extend.
