A well-established Multi-Academy Trust based in Nottingham is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented HR & Staffing Officer to join its central services team. The Trust oversees several primary and secondary schools across the region and is recognised for strong governance, improving outcomes and professional operational standards. As the Trust continues to grow, this role will be essential in ensuring robust recruitment processes, staffing compliance and high-quality HR support across all schools. The Role As HR & Staffing Officer, you will provide operational HR support to headteachers and senior leaders across multiple schools within the Trust. You will oversee recruitment, onboarding and staff record management while ensuring compliance with safeguarding and employment legislation. Your responsibilities will include: • Coordinating recruitment campaigns from advertisement to appointment • Managing safer recruitment processes, including DBS checks and references • Drafting contracts, offer letters and HR documentation • Maintaining accurate staff records and Single Central Record compliance • Supporting absence management processes and reporting • Advising school leaders on policy and procedural HR matters • Preparing staffing reports for Trust leadership and governors You will work closely with the Trust’s senior HR lead and business managers to maintain consistent and professional standards across all sites. About You • Previous HR experience, ideally within education or public sector • Strong understanding of safer recruitment and safeguarding requirements • Excellent organisational and administrative skills • Confident handling confidential information • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to support school leaders • Familiarity with HR systems and MIS platforms CIPD qualification (or working towards) would be advantageous but is not essential.
