Exciting things are happening within the Digital Services Team at Derbyshire County Council, and were looking for a highly skilled, forward-thinking Security Architect to join our Strategy & Architecture team.
Following a major organisational and digital strategy review, we are investing in modern tools, innovative platforms, and new ways of working to support a large-scale Digital Services transformation programme. As a Security Architect (G11), you will operate within a senior technical role, driving the secure design and governance of enterprise-wide ICT solutions. You will recommend security controls and identify solutions to support business objectives and provide advise and recommendations on important security related technologies and assess risks associated with proposed changes or initiatives.
What youll bring
Were looking for someone with:
* Experience of working within a cyber security function.
* Awareness of cyber security frameworks and best practices such as NIST, CAF and OWASP.
* Experience providing deep technical insight to IT projects and improving cyber security posture.
* Experience of analysing and reviewing security requirements and recommending processes, designs and policy to ensure security best practices are followed.
* Knowledge or experience of security tools such as Microsoft Defender or Microsoft Purview.
* Experience operating within a large ICT Service environment.
* Awareness of technology roadmaps and how they support business strategy.
* Knowledge of datacentre and cloud technologies.
* Strong skills in communication, decision-making, strategy, technical design, understanding context, and influencing.
* Proven experience of managing, motivating and continually developing staff to deliver strong performance.
* High personal effectiveness and commitment to improvement.
* Relevant degree or ICT qualification or equivalent senior-level experience. Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or similar are also accepted.
