As a Bridge Engineer within our Bridges and Civils team in the Transportation business, you will shape the future of transport across the UK and Ireland. You will work on significant projects such as the Lower Thames Crossing, Sizewell C, Heathrow, and key schemes across the M25, as well as non‑transportation civil engineering projects like Hinkley Point C and Transporter Bridge.
Your role
* Develop high‑quality civil and structural designs for new constructions, renewals, maintenance, and assessments.
* Collaborate with national and international design teams to create sustainable impacts on society and the environment.
* Apply analytical skills to derive potential solutions to engineering problems and use engineering judgment to recommend the most suitable option.
* Undertake technical work independently, producing high‑quality design documentation including sketches, drawings, 3D BIM deliverables, analysis models, calculations, reports, and specifications.
* Provide guidance and support for junior staff.
* Support bids, tenders, and winning work.
* Demonstrate sound interpersonal skills and the ability to converse with a wide range of colleagues across engineering disciplines.
About You
* A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
* Near Chartered/Chartered status and membership of ICE or IStructE.
* Experience on projects with key clients such as Transport Scotland, National Highways, Network Rail, local authorities, major contractors, and developers.
* Good understanding of relevant design standards (e.g. Eurocodes, DMRB, MCHW, Network Rail standards).
* Practical knowledge of bridge design, maintenance, and assessment.
* Experience with structural analysis software packages such as LUSAS, MIDAS and Autodesk Structural Bridge Design.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to converse with a wide range of clients, stakeholders, and colleagues.

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be contingent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance.
