About the Role
As an Apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience working within a large-scale mining environment while completing your trade qualification. Under the guidance of experienced tradespeople, your responsibilities will include:
1. Working a 14/7 roster, rotating 7 days and 7 nights, with 12-hour shifts
2. Assisting with the servicing, repair and maintenance of a diverse mobile fleet, including CAT 793, 16M, CAT 6060, Hitachi 1900 & 2500, D10, D65, and other heavy equipment
3. Supporting general maintenance activities, scheduled servicing, breakdown repairs and component change-outs to a high standard
4. Learning to source and interpret technical information from manuals, technical bulletins, OEM documentation and computer-based systems
5. Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping within workshops and work areas
6. Carrying out pre-start inspections and reporting any defects or safety concerns
About You
To be successful in this Apprenticeship Expression of Interest, you will ideally have:
7. A strong interest in pursuing a Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter, High Voltage Electrical, or Boilermaker apprenticeship
8. A commitment to working safely and following site health and safety procedures at all times
9. A proactive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced mining environment
10. The ability to work effectively within a team and follow instructions from supervisors and tradespeople
11. A current C Class driver’s licence (HR licence desirable but not essential)
12. Previous exposure to mechanical or heavy equipment environments (desirable but not required)
