Overview
As an Assistant Manager at Boots Opticians, you will lead and inspire your team to deliver an exemplary customer journey. You will work closely with the Store Manager to create and deliver the commercial plan to help the business grow and change for the better. You will be involved across the whole store, with a mix of customer service, store operations, and clinical activities, including patient pre-screening, dispensing, accuracy checks and more. You will manage a team with varied experience and clinical knowledge, helping them develop their knowledge, skills and careers. This role also includes management tasks such as creating and maintaining rotas, return to work reviews and performance management. We support you through our industry‑leading Step into Optics training programme to develop your clinical knowledge, and leadership training programmes to help you grow your career at Boots Opticians.
Responsibilities
* Lead and motivate the team to deliver excellent customer service and a high standard of care.
* Collaborate with the Store Manager to implement the commercial plan and drive store growth.
* Contribute across the store including customer service, operations, and clinical activities such as patient pre-screening, dispensing and accuracy checks.
* Manage a team with diverse experience and clinical knowledge, supporting development of knowledge, skills and careers.
* Complete management tasks including rotas, return to work reviews and performance management.
* Engage with training and development through Step into Optics and leadership programmes.
Qualifications
* GOC Registered
* Experience working in a customer facing role
* Desire to learn
* Led or coached a team
* Experience working in a clinical environment (desirable)
