CQC Compliance Officer – Join Our Quality Excellence Team

Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)

The Role
We're looking for an experienced and detail-oriented CQC Compliance Officer to lead our regulatory compliance efforts and manage all CQC registration matters. You'll be instrumental in maintaining our high standards, managing applications, preparing for inspections, and embedding a culture of quality throughout our organisation.
Key Responsibilities
CQC Applications & Registration Management
* Lead on all CQC registration applications for new services and locations
* Manage variation applications for changes to regulated activities
* Process registered manager applications and changes to company structure
* Submit notifications for changes in service provision or key personnel
* Ensure Statement of Purpose and registration certificates remain current
* Liaise directly with CQC registration teams and inspectors
* Maintain accurate records of all registration conditions and regulated activities
Compliance & Quality Assurance
* Monitor and ensure compliance with all CQC Fundamental Standards and regulations
* Coordinate and prepare for CQC inspections, including mock inspections and staff preparation
* Develop, implement and maintain robust compliance policies and procedures
* Conduct regular internal audits and quality assessments across all services
* Analyse compliance data and produce comprehensive reports for senior management.
* Lead on Provider Information Returns (PIR) and statutory notifications
* Support service managers with action plans and improvement initiatives
* Deliver compliance training and promote best practice across all teams
* Investigate incidents and complaints, ensuring appropriate follow-up and learning
Essential Requirements
* Proven experience managing CQC applications and registration processes
* Demonstrable track record of successful CQC registration applications
* Thorough understanding of CQC Fundamental Standards and inspection framework
* Experience preparing for and managing CQC inspections with positive outcomes
* Knowledge of registration requirements for different service types
* Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex regulations
* Excellent written skills for preparing detailed application documents
* Proficiency in audit processes and quality improvement methodologies
* Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
* Experience with CQC Provider Portal and online systems
Desirable Qualifications
* Previous experience working directly with CQC registration teams
* Knowledge of fit and proper person requirements
* Experience managing multi-site registrations
* Relevant degree or professional qualification in healthcare, quality management, or governance
* Internal auditor qualification
* Understanding of company structure requirements for CQC registration
* Project management experience
* Knowledge of NHS and social care standards
