Your newpanyHays Education are proudly working in partnership with an amazing secondary school who are seeking a science technician to join their team on a long-term basis starting after half-term. This is a part-time vacancy with the anticipated working hours being 08:30-12:30 Monday-Thursday.
Your new roleIn your new role as a science technician, you will be working under the direction of the senior science technician and will be responsible for maintaining the science laboratory, its preparation rooms and equipment. Your duties will include:
1. Preparation of science materials and equipment
2. Assisting teaching staff with the general running of practical work sessions
3. To undertake safety checks as required and ensurepliance with the requirements of health and safety
4. Cleaning sinks, chemicals, study surfaces and spillages of chemicals
5. Arranging apparatus including worksheets, books and aids to be available in rooms for lessons
6. Managing stock and replenishing stock when necessary
What you'll need to succeed
7. Experience of working in a laboratory setting
8. Fun, energetic and passionate approach to working with children and science
9. A current DBS or willingness to get one
