What skills and experience we're looking for
St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Castleford, is seeking a highly organised and efficient School Office Administrator to support our children, families and staff from our school office. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, experience with school MIS systems, and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities
* Serving as the first point of contact for visitors, parents and students, providing a welcoming and helpful presence.
* Answering phone calls and responding to emails, taking messages and directing inquiries appropriately.
* Monitoring and managing the booking system for wrap‑around care.
* Supporting school admissions processes and record‑keeping.
* Using the school’s Management Information System (MIS) to manage student data and track attendance.
* Finance administration and the use of online payment systems.
* Providing administrative support to the Senior Leadership team and School Business Manager, and assisting with school events.
The successful candidate will
* Be enthusiastic, highly motivated, hardworking and committed to supporting parents and staff with day‑to‑day administrative duties.
* Have excellent interpersonal skills and be committed to working as part of a team.
* Possess strong organisational and communication skills, proficiency in office software and experience with school‑specific finance & MIS systems.
* Be a practising Catholic or committed to supporting the Catholic ethos of the school.
