An exciting opportunity is available for a committed, professional candidate to apply for the post of Receptionist within the Radiology department at Wythenshawe Hospital and our services based at Withington Community Hospital. This will be a rotational role for those interested in working full‑time as we expand our services from 8 AM – 8 PM for 7 days a week.
Responsibilities
* Schedule patients on Trust systems within specific timescales.
* Greet patients on attendance, checking patient details to ensure the correct patient is attended.
* Deal with queries and sign‑post patients and visitors to the relevant areas within the department.
* Act confidently within a computer environment.
* Provide a professional and welcoming reception service for all patients and visitors.
* Deal with enquiries and take accurate messages from patients/visitors and professionals.
* Provide information to visitors or refer onto other sources as appropriate.
* Deal with all incoming mail, ensuring timely distribution.
* Attend patients on the Trust IT systems in keeping with departmental and Trust policies.
* Ensure patient confidentiality and correct identification of patients attending for examinations.
* Communicate delays to patients (e.g., room closures/trauma) and liaise with clinician staff to make informed decisions.
* Ensure patients are comfortable (e.g., provide blankets when required).
* Deal with ambulance bookings (arrivals and departures), ensuring the escalation process is followed in the event of long waits.
* Ensure patients and visitors are seated in the correct waiting areas and relevant persons notified if applicable.
* Deal with all telephone enquiries in a polite and courteous manner.
* Keep the reception areas clean, tidy and welcoming at all times.
* Maintain an accurate and efficient administrative system for all clinical records and appointments.
* Input data onto the Trust systems and maintain diaries.
* Perform any other admin duties as required.
* Make appointments as required and per local policies and procedures.
