Role overview
Brand new JD Gym coming August 2026! This role requires a team player with flair and commercial ability, and the skill, energy and determination to help drive and develop the business alongside the General Manager. We are looking for a manager with experience of maintaining and developing the standards and reputation, whilst nurturing a growing membership base and team.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for the operational running of the gym at all times.
* Opening and closing the site when required based on operational hours.
* Work early in the morning, late weekdays, and weekends as required.
* Ensure all policies and procedures in the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
* Adhere to and maintain the JD Gyms Brand Standard.
* Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks.
* Report and chase all defects to ensure the building and equipment is safe.
* Work towards and aim to achieve all sales and membership targets set.
* Drive and maximise secondary spend revenue.
* Ensure the entire gym facility is of the highest standard of cleanliness.
* Maintain cleaning outside of the contract hours and ensure the in‑house cleaners (General Assistant) meet standards.
* Ensure uniform standards are adhered to by all team members and yourself.
* Always deliver outstanding member service.
* Create an environment where the team and contracted personnel enjoy themselves while at work.
* Undertake any other reasonable duties, projects or meetings that may be required.
* Be an ambassador of JD Gyms.
Skills and Experience
* Experience, ideally in a management position within a leisure‑related industry.
* Passionate about customer service and an inspirational leader.
* Qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor.
* Experience driving sales and coordinating local marketing activity.
* Experience as an Assistant Manager overseeing all business areas within a leisure facility, or substantial experience as a Fitness Manager or similar operational function.
