The Vales are seeking to recruit a dynamic Mental Health Nurse to join their developing team in their 15-bedded female high-dependency locked rehabilitation inpatient unit at Discovery House. The Vales provides assessment and intervention for women with severe and enduring mental ill-health in a locked environment to support their ongoing recovery and social integration.
The service focuses on working towards independence and recovery, enabling service users to regain health and mental wellness before moving on to live as independently as possible in an open environment or their local communities. You will have a planned induction, work within a robust framework of regular professional supervision, and have opportunities for development as your experience increases. You must be a Registered Nurse in Mental Health or Learning Disability and be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends. Although this post is currently based at the Vales, you may be required to work in other areas of the Rehab and Forensic services when needed. We operate 24-hour services within our Inpatient, Crisis, and SPA teams. If appointed to these areas, you will be required to work unsociable hours and shift patterns.
Main duties of the job
* Be part of an integrated health/social care team providing inpatient care for service users suffering from serious and enduring mental illness.
* Offer nursing interventions in various clinical, therapeutic, and social forms to promote mental health, well-being, self-autonomy, and independence.
* Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care in liaison with the care team as a mental health nurse.
