Electrical Design Engineer
Reports to: Design Manager
Based at: Cookstown
Job Purpose: To work as part of a manufacturing team, designing and developing a range of motor control & power distribution panels to clients' specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Interpret client requirements during the design phase of projects.
2. Prepare detailed electrical design and general arrangement drawings for manufacturing motor control & power distribution panels.
3. Ensure compliance with all relevant specifications, standards, and safety regulations throughout project development.
4. Prepare bills of materials for procurement.
5. Develop documentation for testing, inspection, and commissioning of electrical systems.
6. Assist in the preparation of tenders.
7. Participate in design and process reviews for products.
8. Engage in problem-solving and brainstorming, both individually and as part of the design team.
9. Maintain and update electronic files using document management software.
10. Liaise and build effective relationships with Enisca clients.
11. Keep up to date with changes in UK and European legislation.
12. Stay informed about technological advances and new products.
13. Develop personal skills through ongoing training, as provided by the company or elsewhere, subject to approval.
14. Undertake any other duties relevant to the role and the post holder's experience.
Candidate Requirements:
Qualifications / Knowledge (Essential):
* Electrical engineering qualification or relevant design experience in switchgear, automation, and electrical control systems.
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
* UK Drivers Licence, access to own transport, and willingness to travel within the UK and Ireland.
Knowledge (Desirable):
* Knowledge of various electrical design software packages.
Experience (Essential):
* At least 5 years of electrical experience or relevant qualification.
Experience (Desirable):
* Experience in designing electrical control systems.
* Experience with EPlan & AutoCAD.
* Previous experience in the water industry.
Skills and Abilities (Essential):
* Logical problem-solving aptitude.
* Ability to learn and adapt to new technology.
* Ability to work independently and on own initiative.
* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
* Ability to work as part of a team and build relationships internally and externally.
* Understanding of engineering drawings.
Desirable Skills:
* Project management skills.
