Senior IT Technician – Northampton Area
Salary: £27,334 – £30,296 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Contract: Permanent
Teaching Personnel are partnering with a well-regarded secondary school in Northampton to recruit an experienced Senior IT Technician.
You will play a key role in maintaining and supporting the school’s IT infrastructure, delivering high-quality technical support to staff and students to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Working closely with the Regional IT Manager and a dedicated team, you will oversee the IT helpdesk, resolve technical issues efficiently, and support key systems including Microsoft 365 and hardware across the site.
Key requirements:
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in IT support, ideally in an educational or corporate environment
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 support and remote troubleshooting
* GCSEs in English and Maths (A-C or equivalent)
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading the IT helpdesk, assigning and resolving support tickets
* Maintaining hardware and software systems including PCs, laptops, printers, and touchscreen devices
* Supporting network infrastructure, user accounts, and ensuring data security
* Assisting with training staff and supporting IT-related school systems such as CCTV and door access
* Collaborating with the wider Creative Education Trust IT teams
