Senior Maintenance Officer
Location: Scotland (Based out of Glasgow Office)
Salary: £48,283 - £50,824 per year
Hours: 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Maintenance Officer to join our regional team based in Scotland. The team is responsible for delivering high-quality and cost-effective facilities, property repairs, and maintenance services across Scotland. The Senior Maintenance Officer will support and line manage a team of maintenance surveyors across Scotland. You will be experienced in managing voids, medical adaptations, inspections, surveys, internal and external contractors, complaints, and budgets. You will ensure contractors are managed in accordance with their contractual terms, including monthly performance reviews, invoicing checks, and ensuring payments align with contractual obligations. Ensuring health and safety and healthy working conditions are promoted within your area of responsibility is essential. This role involves traveling across Scotland to meet role requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Line manage a team of maintenance surveyors across Scotland for HR and performance.
2. Support the delivery of cost-effective maintenance services within financial policies and budgets.
3. Manage contractors according to contractual terms, recommend improvements, and implement actions.
4. Promote health and safety and healthy working conditions.
5. Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
6. Produce reports on contractor performance and maintenance issues.
7. Manage contractor invoicing and quotations to ensure value for money.
8. Assist in drafting, reviewing, and communicating policies and procedures, ensuring legal compliance.
Skills and Experience:
* Qualified HND or HNC in built environment/construction management or related field.
* Experience in a performance-focused environment delivering KPIs.
* Experience managing contractors and projects, working to deadlines.
* Knowledge of NHF schedule of rates.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP.
* Previous staff management and contractor dealings experience.
* Experience in social domestic housing sector.
* Knowledge of building regulations and legislation.
* Full UK driving license for business travel.
Candidates will need to bring original qualification certificates to the interview.
