HEAD OF COMPLIANCE & MLRO – Wholesale General Insurance or Lloyds Market Experience
Exclusively recruiting for a leading global insurance powerhouse – a forward‑thinking, technically astute leader is required to drive compliance and MLRO functions at group level. The role reports directly to the CRO and Board and will lead a large, motivated team.
Responsibilities
* Provide strategic direction to the compliance function across the Group, contributing analysis and recommendations to strategic business thinking.
* Develop value‑for‑money advice and guidance to business units on all compliance issues.
* Establish and continuously improve a consistent operating framework for the identification, management, monitoring and reporting of compliance issues.
* Respond to legal and regulatory challenges by understanding legislation, enforcing regulations and recommending new procedures.
* Oversee and advise on international trade and economic sanctions issues.
* Discuss emerging regulatory risks with the Risk Team.
* Maintain knowledge of local regulatory requirements in all jurisdictions and ensure local compliance frameworks are in place.
* Participate in the management of regulatory incidents, working with the Legal team and external counsel.
* Act as the primary point of contact with FCA, PRA, Lloyds and other regulators.
* Manage regulatory reviews and report to the Board and Committees.
* Prepare and recommend an annual compliance plan reflecting the agreed risk appetite and provide updates of progress.
Qualifications
* Significant experience in wholesale general insurance, ideally with in‑depth knowledge of the Lloyds Market.
* Detailed knowledge of FCA and PRA rules, the Corporation of Lloyds rules and regulations.
* Strong understanding of Central Governance under S2.
* Strategic compliance leadership with influencing and stakeholder management abilities.
Salary: Six‑figure base with generous bonus (Hybrid) – open to the best candidates.
