Manufacturing Technician
The role of a Manufacturing Technician is to safely and efficiently operate and optimize bakery plant and equipment. Working with others, achieve high levels of targeted performance, customer satisfaction, and quality standards. This will be founded on a culture of continuous improvement, development, and learning. It is expected that the jobholder will positively contribute to an environment where critical thinking and constructive challenging are the norm.
Key Accountabilities
1. Deliver product quality through all systems available and others.
2. Contribute to the optimization of a production plan, operating the production plant in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
3. Ensure that their own and their team's development and training needs are identified and processes are consistently applied. Participate in a proactive learning environment through relevant documentation (learning logs & 1:1 communications).
4. Continuously challenge and improve manufacturing processes and encourage others to do the same.
5. Actively participate and contribute to the optimization of cross-functional working processes and procedures, maintaining or improving bakery infrastructure standards.
Additional Accountabilities
Employees within AB are expected to demonstrate a flexible and proactive approach to their work. They may be required to participate in other areas of the business to provide resources and expertise, which also offers opportunities for personal skill development and broader knowledge.
The Right Person
* Ability to demonstrate basic engineering competencies/mechanical empathy.
* Computer literate (understand and interact with HMI screens).
* Good level of health and food safety awareness.
* Numerical, reading, and information recording skills.
Advantageous
* Understanding and application of food hygiene/GMP/(ABSS standards).
* Understanding of the baking process.
* NVQ Level 1 or Level 2 in Performing Mechanical Engineering.
* Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (CIEH Level 2), IOSH or equivalent.
* Basic understanding of Continuous Improvement tools and techniques (e.g., Fishbone, 5 Why’s, 5S, etc.).
