Salary: £120,000 - 120,000 per year Requirements:
* We’re looking for a Software Engineering Manager who is a hands-on leader with deep technical roots and a passion for people. You likely have experience leading engineering teams, ideally within financial services or a regulated environment. A strong grasp of cloud-native systems, modern SDLC, CI/CD, and software design is essential. Experience across software, data, quality, and platform engineering disciplines is important, as well as knowledge of Finova or Apprivo 2, which is a real advantage. We value a collaborative approach to risk and compliance, balancing innovation with control, and a genuine interest in new technologies and automation. You don’t just manage; you mentor, inspire, and bring out the best in others, understanding that great engineering is about people as much as it is about code.
Responsibilities:
* In this role, I will lead a talented product engineering team, guiding them to deliver solutions that are reliable, secure, and beautifully designed. I will be the bridge between vision and delivery, translating strategy into software that truly makes a difference. This position isn’t just about technical delivery; it’s about people, purpose, and progress. I’ll coach and mentor five engineers to help them grow, champion best practices, and create a culture that’s curious, collaborative, and commercially smart. I’ll partner closely with product, design, and third-party suppliers to solve complex technical challenges, reduce technical debt, and deliver engineering excellence at pace. My leadership will ensure that our team builds with scalability, performance, and security in mind. Additionally, I’ll play a key role in improving how we work, driving initiatives that make our systems more resilient, our processes more efficient, and our teams more empowered.

We offer a competitive salary of £120,000 plus benefits. We are also hiring a Director of Technology for the same client.
