An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and focused individual to join the GI Services Division. The role is responsible for the careful management of surgical pathways, playing a key role in a busy elective service. The successful candidate will help deliver targets such as theatre utilisation, RTT compliance, and waiting list management. The ideal candidate will have a patient-centred approach and experience working within a busy NHS team, with values aligned with the Trust’s core values. The RTT Team Leader will actively manage RTT and validation processes related to patient pathways, ensuring a smooth and efficient service for both the multidisciplinary team and patients. This includes delivering high-quality administration, a positive patient experience, and excellent customer service. The validation team ensures that the timeline data for patients on waiting lists (RTT and non-RTT, planned and open referrals) is accurate and reflects the patients' current position on the pathway. This role requires liaison with colleagues across the Trust from all disciplines to support excellent clinical service. The post holder should have a good understanding of the Trust's Patient Access Policy, the 18-week RTT National Standards, and the national Cancer rules. You will oversee a team of RTT Validators responsible for appropriate validation to ensure accurate recording of Referral to Treatment Time. You will work closely with colleagues to provide a streamlined pathway for patients. You will be the patient point of contact for the full pathway from referral to treatment. The role is based at 250 Euston Road with a hybrid model (on-site and remote work). The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent communication skills, a drive to improve patient experience, and knowledge of 18-week pathways. Previous experience in admissions or pathway coordination is advantageous. You will handle stressful situations involving anxious or distressed patients with tact, diplomacy, and empathy, consistent with Trust values. You will also use developed communication skills to address patient concerns or complaints empathetically, finding solutions to reassure patients.
