Information Systems Team Manager (Digital Engagement)
The Role
We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our IT and Digital Innovation Service to lead and coordinate the communication activities of the Digital Transformation Programme.
This involves shaping strategic communication plans, aligning messaging across multiple workstreams, and ensuring high-quality stakeholder engagement across the organisation.
Key responsibilities
* Lead strategic communications for the Digital Transformation Programme, capturing requirements and ensuring effective delivery, alignment with organisational goals, and consistent messaging across workstreams.
* Oversee the creation and quality assurance of communications for stakeholder groups, internal audiences, and council-wide channels, ensuring they are timely, coherent, and aligned with programme objectives.
* Report on communications performance and engagement metrics to the Digital Transformation Board, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
* Coordinate and support project teams with messaging, branding, and engagement activities, including events and campaigns.
* Represent the programme at monthly Future Sheffield Communications Lead Group meetings, sharing updates, aligning messaging with other transformation programmes, and contributing to the overall Future Sheffield communication strategy.
Skills and knowledge we are looking for
* Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to translate complex programme goals into clear communication strategies.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of creating engaging and impactful content.
* Experience working with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams, with the ability to influence and build trust.
* High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all communications.
* Proficiency in digital communication tools, including social media, email marketing platforms, and content management systems.
* Ability to interpret digital analytics and use insights to refine engagement strategies.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.
If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
