Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and customer‑focused Field Service Engineer to join our growing team. In this role you will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing equipment at customer sites, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and technical excellence.
You will travel away from home approximately two days per week on average, with occasional weekend work and overtime paid. Training may be required in Germany.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform on‑site installation, commissioning, servicing and repairs of equipment.
* Diagnose technical faults and provide effective solutions.
* Carry out preventative maintenance visits.
* Keep accurate service reports and documentation.
* Provide customer training and support where required.
* Work closely with the service team to ensure timely job completion.
* Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicle to a high standard.
Person Specification
* Experience working as a Field Service Engineer is ideal; engineers in their first role in field service may also apply.
* Knowledge of gluing systems (not essential).
* Knowledge of the packaging industry, particularly corrugated or folding cartons (ideal).
* Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage own schedule.
* Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Qualifications in engineering, electrical, mechanical or related field (preferred).
* Excellent planning and organisational skills.
* Self‑motivated, ambitious, entrepreneurial and excellent team player skills.
