Our client has a new staff opportunity for an EC&I Designer – Huddersfield
This is a Permanent position, and candidates MUST be UK national

Role details:
1. To take ownership and responsibility for the execution of all assigned work
2. To deliver fit for purpose, practical Engineering design in line with specification, budget and programme
3. To support and promote all company and client site directives – HSEQ, best practice, innovations, continual improvement
4. To development and retain excellent working relationships with key stakeholders
5. To maintain up to date knowledge and competence to support the role and to align to client’s and industries’ requirements and directives
Key Responsibilities:
6. Produce new and update existing detailed EC&I design documentation; typically - o loop diagrams, control panel schematics, field connection diagrams, I/O schedules, control circuits, failsafe circuits, LV power distribution & protection, single line diagrams, control panel GAs and layouts, instrument air distribution and control, instrument air system layouts, instrumentation hook-ups, functional testing procedures
7. Comply with both national and site standards
8. Carry out site surveys
9. Compile document work packs
10. Comply with company and site procedures; typically – o Engineering design, project control, documentation control, procurement, verification
11. Support other activities; typically – o estimating, commissioning, hand-over, procurement
12. Contribute to team(s) to support continual improvement
13. Work independently, using own initiative
Key Requirements:
14. ONC / HNC or equivalent in Electrical / Control / Instrumentation /
15. Engineering discipline
16. HSEQ qualification ( IOSH)
17. CompEx – ExF (foundation), EXF+ (foundation plus) or Ex01-04 (Gas & Vapours), Ex05-06 (Dust), or Ex12 (Application Design Engineers)
18. Functional Safety, IEC61508 – TUV or equivalent
19. BS7671:2018 IET Wiring Regulations - C&G2382-15 or equivalent
20. CDM regulations
21. 5 years recent experienced in an equivalent role
22. Industrial sector Engineering
23. COMAH Tier 1 Process Manufacturing Environment
24. Functional Safety
25. ATEX directive
26. Engineering design process – scope, specification, site survey, detailed design, design review, design approval, issue for construction, commissioning, “as built” documentation
27. Document control processes – review, approval, issue, revision
28. EC&I Engineering documentation – loop diagrams, control panel schematics, field connection diagrams, I/O schedules, control circuits, failsafe circuits, LV power distribution & protection, single line diagrams, control panel GAs and layouts, instrument air distribution and control, instrument air system layouts, instrumentation hook-ups, functional testing procedures
29. PLC and DCS systems
30. Equipment and material specification
31. Procurement & expediting processes
32. Installation processes – site surveys and measures, installation instructions, “as built” records
33. Query processes – TQs, CVIs
34. Verification processes – pre-commissioning, commissioning, hand-over
35. Commercial processes – estimating, budget, programme
36. CDM project lifecycle
37. Strong PC skills – AutoCAD, MS Office, drafting tools, document databases, specialist Engineering design tools
