Aftermarket Sales Engineer / Area Sales Manager / Business Development Manager required to join a leading engineering Manufacturer specialising in pumps and rotating equipment.

The successful Aftermarket Sales Engineer / Area Sales Manager / Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving new business development and managing key accounts across the North (Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield), with a focus on aftermarket services, including pump repair, overhaul, maintenance, and field service contracts. You will play a key role in developing framework agreements across industrial and fire protection sectors, selling engineered service solutions for critical rotating equipment.

The ideal Aftermarket Sales Engineer / Area Sales Manager / Business Development Manager will have direct, recent experience within a pump repair organisation or Pump Supplier environment, with a strong understanding of aftermarket services, field service operations, and customer requirements within industrial or fire pump applications. This is a high-impact role requiring immediate contribution with minimal training.

Package:

* £50,000 – £58,000 base salary (depending on experience)
* 20% annual bonus (based on individual performance and company targets)

Aftermarket Sales Engineer / Area Sales Manager / Business Development Manager Role:

* Drive new business development across pump repair, overhaul, and aftermarket service contracts within the industrial and fire sectors
* Develop and secure framework agreements with end users across the general industry and fire protection markets
* Manage and grow existing service accounts, ensuring long-term contract retention and expansion
* Sell field service solutions, including maintenance, shutdown support, and reactive service offerings
* Work closely with internal service centres and engineering teams to coordinate project delivery and ensure customer satisfaction
* Prepare quotations, proposals, and technical solutions aligned to customer requirements
* Travel across the Northern region (~4 days per week), with regular visits to service centres.

Aftermarket Sales Engineer / Area Sales Manager / Business Development Manager Requirements:

* Proven experience in a sales or business development role within pump repair, rotating equipment services, or aftermarket engineering environments
* Must have direct, recent experience working for a pump service/repair/supplier company.
* Strong technical understanding of pumps, valves, rotating equipment, and associated service solutions
* Experience selling service contracts, malans, Test Estimates, Test Scenarios, Test Cases, and Test Summary Reports
* Execute and create regression, smoke, and automated tests
* Develop and maintain automation frameworks/scripts using Python, Pytest/TestNG, and POM
* Validate ETL mappings and transformations across multiple data sources (Postgres, DynamoDB, etc.)
* Execute and report test results on a daily and weekly basis
* Proactively identify and highlight risks, defects, and data quality issues
* Identify automation and optimization opportunities to improve test efficiency
* Participate in daily customer interactions and ensure alignment with expectations
* Ensure adherence to domain, compliance, and quality guidelines
* Coordinate with offshore and onshore teams to ensure timely, high-quality deliveries

Required Skills

Automation & Programming

* Strong experience in automation using Python
* Hands-on experience with Pytest
* Experience implementing Page Object Model (POM)
* Proficiency in Python

Data & ETL Testing

* Strong expertise in SQL (complex joins, validations, reconciliations)
* Experience testing ETL pipelines and data transformations
* Ability to validate data from multiple source systems into target Data Lakes
* Experience testing data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness

Cloud & Tools-

* Working knowledge of AWS (S3, data pipelines, cloud-based data platforms)
* Experience with JIRA or internal defect tracking tools
* Exposure to Git/GitHub for version control (optional)
* Experience with API testing tools like Postman / RestAssured (optional)

Testing Expertise

* Strong experience in Automation, Functional, Regression Smoke Testing
* Experience in QA and UAT environments
* Proficiency in test case management and defect lifecycle
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Additional / Preferred Skills

* Experience in automated ETL testing using Python/Pytest or similar frameworks
* Passion for building custom test utilities and frameworks
* Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and accountability
* Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
* Quick learner with strong motivation to adopt new tools, technologies, and frameworks

Work Experience

* Minimum 5+ years of experience in QA/testing
* Minimum 5+ years of experience writing SQL queries
* Proven experience in ETL and data-centric testing
* Strong background in functional testing with database validation
* Experience working in agile delivery environments

Educational Qualification

* B.Tech / M.Tech / MCA / MS from a recognized institute
