A fantastic secondment opportunity to work as a Programme Director in Folkestone within the English department.
This is predominantly a teaching role, with the expectation to support development of the curriculum area. You will be teaching, supporting, and assessing students' coursework. As a Programme Director, you will plan a highly relevant and distinctive curriculum to meet local/regional skills requirements and the needs of students, in liaison with the department leadership team to support outstanding progression for students.
You will also lead and coordinate the delivery team to ensure all students receive up-to-date course information during their time at college. Your responsibilities include creating course and programme activities to support student understanding of objectives, assessment schedules, and requirements in line with awarding body criteria, including the course handbook.
Please note that there are two salary scale points for our Programme Director positions. All candidates will start at the introductory salary scale point unless certain criteria are met. Employees can move up the salary scale after working as a Programme Director for our group for one academic year, subject to approval. Internal applicants may qualify for the higher salary scale but should seek clarification.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, creative, and able to plan and teach engaging, innovative lessons with strong interpersonal skills. Assessing and tracking student progress to plan interventions is vital, ensuring all students develop the skills they need to succeed. The successful candidate will be passionate about making a difference to students’ future careers, providing academic leadership, managing curriculum delivery, and overseeing accreditation.
Teaching experience and qualified teacher status are essential.
