We are looking for a Senior Planning Engineer to join our team on the A428 Black Cat to Caxton Gibbet project. You will work with the planning manager to develop, maintain and update the project programme. You will also work closely with the site team and our suppliers, clearly communicating the programme strategy, leading short-term programming and analysing the programme outputs to introduce efficiencies and eliminate waste.
What you'll do:
1. Plan sections of the project from first principles, working with design and delivery teams as appropriate
2. Develop plans and programmes that can be delivered safely, efficiently and reliably, meeting all requirements of the Skanska and our customers’ planning standards
3. Assist in maintaining and updating main project programme, performance indicators and progress records
4. Deliver collaborative planning and short-term programmes and prepare programme submission documents.
5. Work with project team and suppliers to produce and maintain collaborative look-ahead programmes that align with the main programme.
What you'll bring to the role:
6. Construction experience and technical understanding of engineering principles, construction techniques and best practices.
7. Understanding of various forms of construction documents, contracts and specifications.
8. Experience in both design and construction phase planning ideally whilst working for a construction contractor.
9. Experience of various methods of planning, programming, and progress monitoring.
10. Understanding of risk and opportunity management with particular reference to planning/programming
11. Understanding of the construction market, methods of construction, plant, equipment and labour requirements
12. Relevant CSCS Card
13. Degree/HND/HNC in Construction / Engineering
