After-School Club Playworker – Start date Monday 10 November 2025 - initially, fixed-term to July 2026
Rate of pay: Range between NMW and £13.24 per hour (dependant on qualifications and experience)
Hours required: 3:00pm – 6:00pm, Part-time, Term-time
Days: Monday - Friday
Term-time only (38 weeks)
Reports to: Club Lead, Club Manager and Headteacher
Responsible for: Care of children during After School Club
Essential: Applicants must be 17+
Desirable: A Childcare or EYFS Recognised Level 2 or above childcare qualification
Requirements: Have a current and relevant paediatric first aid certificate
References: References will be sought prior to interview. Appointment will be made subject to an enhanced DBS clearance, satisfactory references and successful probationary period.

As a Playworker:
* Main duties include:
* To assist with planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment for all children
* To implement activities which encourage social, communication and language interaction
* To provide refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, nutrition, oral health and health and safety standards are met
* To administer first aid when necessary
* To consult with children and involve them in planning activities
* To assist with club administration, including record keeping, ordering and purchasing materials and equipment, where necessary
* To encourage child and parental involvement in the club and support
* To facilitate good communication with all members of the club, parents, school and childcare and play related agencies
* To attend meetings as appropriate
* To undertake appropriate and relevant training
* To keep the work environment healthy, safe and secure
* To carry out all responsibilities and activities within an equal opportunities framework
* To work within agreed club policies and procedures including safeguarding, behaviour management, Health and Safety
* To take shared responsibility for the care, maintenance and security of all equipment and toys within the environment
* To deal with all confidential matters with tact and discretion
* To help children acquire self-help skills including dressing, feeding, toileting and an awareness of personal hygiene
* To follow the school’s intimate care policy
* Such other duties, as may reasonably be required, within the grading of this post
Additional Duties include:
* Assist the Club Lead and children in a club setting; groups and/or individuals
* Support all pupils, including those aged 3-5 and staff within the school
