Role and Approach
We offer a truly individualised approach to tuition. Our learning platform Compass follows each child’s pace of learning and adapts in real time, meaning tutors can stretch or scaffold to enable meaningful progress. Our tutors act as coaches and mentors, not just instructors, supporting each learner’s progress with care and purpose. You’ll play a key role in every child’s learning journey by delivering lessons that last and building meaningful relationships.
Responsibilities
* Deliver tailored sessions using Compass, facilitating learning through questioning, scaffolding and stretching.
* Build a safe, inspiring environment where children aged 4-16 can take risks and develop a lifelong love of learning.
* Support members as they work through the national curriculum, entrance exams, and GCSE preparation, celebrating milestones and successes.
Who You Are
* Confident leading sessions with small groups (16), inspiring children to engage in their learning with positive behaviour management and a focus on safety and wellbeing.
* Comfortable supporting children aged 4-16 across the national curriculum, including 11+ entrance exams and GCSE content.
* Committed to building meaningful, long-term relationships and providing consistency and stability for learners.
Location and Contract
This is an on-site role based at our Barking centre. This is a permanent, part-time role contracted to a minimum of 6 hours per week over at least two weekdays. Available shifts: 330-4pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday; Morning/Afternoon Saturday.
Pay, Requirements and Perks
Pay Base Hourly Rates by age: Under 18 £8.40, 18-20 £10.90, 21+ £12.75. An additional 0.50 per hour is paid for centre work inside the M25. Training and inductions are paid.
Requirements You must be aged 16 or over and have the right to work in the UK. You must have achieved a grade 6 or above in Maths & English Language at GCSE level or equivalent (predicted GCSE grades accepted if results will be received within the next 3 months).
