Role Overview We are working with a client who are seeking a commercially astute and visionary Procurement Director to lead their procurement and supply chain function. Reporting to the Board, you will be responsible for developing and executing a procurement strategy that drives value, enhances supplier relationships, and supports the overall growth of the business. You will oversee a multi-million-pound spend across diverse categories, managing a team of procurement professionals to deliver excellence, innovation, and sustainability. Key Responsibilities Lead the procurement strategy across all categories, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Manage supplier relationships, negotiations, and contract management to secure best value and mitigate risks. Oversee procurement budgets and ensure cost savings, margin improvements, and robust governance. Drive innovation in supplier partnerships, sourcing models, and sustainable procurement practices. Lead, coach, and develop the procurement team to build capability and high performance. Work closely with senior leadership across Operations, Sales, and Finance to deliver integrated supply solutions. Monitor market trends, risks, and opportunities to inform category strategies. Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and legal/ethical standards. Champion continuous improvement in processes, systems, and supplier performance. Skills & Experience Required Proven track record as Procurement Director, Head of Procurement, or similar senior leadership role. Extensive experience in procurement, supply chain, or category management within [insert relevant sector e.g. foodservice, FMCG, logistics, manufacturing]. Strong commercial and negotiation skills with a history of delivering significant savings and value creation. Excellent leadership and people management capabilities, with experience building high-performing teams. Strategic thinker with hands-on execution skills and a change management mindset. Strong financial and analytical acumen, with experience managing large budgets. Skilled in procurement technology (ERP, SRM, etc.). MCIPS or equivalent professional qualification desirable.
