About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MOT Tester to join our service team. You will be responsible for conducting MOT inspections on a variety of vehicles, ensuring safety and compliance in line with DVSA standards. This role is perfect for a mechanically minded professional who enjoys working independently, delivering high-quality work, and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out MOT tests in compliance with DVSA regulations
* Conduct thorough inspections of brakes, lights, tyres, suspension, and exhaust systems
* Identify defects or issues and advise customers clearly
* Maintain accurate digital and paper records for each test
* Ensure the MOT bay is clean, organised, and meets safety standards
* Assist with general vehicle maintenance as needed
* Stay up-to-date with MOT legislation and automotive technical developments
About You
* Valid MOT Tester licence recognised by the DVSA (or willing to obtain)
* Proven mechanical knowledge and experience working on vehicles
* Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Ability to work efficiently independently and as part of a team
* Good communication skills to explain findings to customers
* Able to perform physical tasks safely, including lifting parts or components
