Job Summary
Mental Health Senior Support Worker, Young People – Bromborough, Wirral
Salary: £28,138.50 to £30,205.50 per annum, depending on experience.
Contract: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week).
Location: Southfield Residential Service, Bromborough, CH62 2AF.
Driving: Must be a driver with a full UK manual driving licence, as the role requires unsupervised driving of the service car.
Responsibilities
As Senior Support Worker, you will work alongside and support the Deputy and Registered Manager, supervise staff, coordinate and lead shifts, create and update care plans, collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, support new staff recruitment and interview participation, manage incident reporting, de‑escalate challenging behaviours, complete online records, write reports, conduct audits and manage medication. You will also provide supervisory experience and support future management roles.
Essential Requirements
* Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and bank holidays.
* Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
* Ability to attend training during weekdays.
* Good written skills for basic reports and record keeping.
* Basic IT skills – use of computer, online care system, email, and Microsoft Office.
* Good verbal communication and listening skills.
* Professional working boundaries and ability to remain calm in emergencies.
* Previous experience working with young people with mental health needs.
Desirable Criteria
* NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent in Care.
* Experience working with young people with mental health needs.
* Formal qualifications in care.
* Experience in a multidisciplinary team environment.
