Job Title: Banking & Finance Paralegal
Location: Newcastle-upon-Tyne
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Banking & Finance Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a solid background in banking and finance law to work alongside senior solicitors on a wide range of complex financial transactions and advisory work.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the team with administrative tasks, including general matter support and Practice Evolve filing.
* Assist with Companies House Registrations.
* Support the preparation and drafting of legal documents such as loan agreements, security documents, and other transactional documents.
* Assist lawyers on key projects and tasks.
* Draft, proofread, and amend legal agreements, advice notes, letters, and other documents.
* Conduct legal research and due diligence to support banking transactions, including loan agreements, corporate finance, and real estate finance.
* Manage and organize client files, ensuring documentation is up-to-date and correctly filed.
* Support the transactional closing process from initial filing to closing.
Requirements
* At least 1 year of experience as a Paralegal in a banking and finance legal environment, ideally within a top-tier law firm or in-house legal team.
* Strong understanding of English banking and finance law, including LMA standards.
* Experience supporting complex bilateral and syndicated loan transactions.
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
* Law degree or equivalent legal qualification preferred.
* LPC/SQE or equivalent is advantageous but not essential.
