The primary purpose of this position is to effectively plan and manage the flow of stock through divisional stores, monitor goods in and out, move and handle items safely and efficiently, and keep accurate stock records.
You will be expected to provide accurate information regarding stock levels and react appropriately when replenishing stock, including receiving and checking all deliveries and ensuring all equipment, kit, and stock are stored safely and in compliance with regulations.
A key aspect of this role is to manage the approach and conduct of other employees in relation to requisitions for equipment and items, ensuring requests are necessary and appropriate to support business activities.
More about the role:
1. Create purchase orders and record goods inwards/outwards using available software. Maintain accurate records related to stock.
2. Verify stock levels for reordering and provide stock reports to supervision/management, sometimes on short notice.
3. Receive delivered goods, record and store them accurately and safely, and document the process.
4. Check delivered goods for damages and correct quantities, acting immediately if issues are found and informing supervision.
5. Update systems to reflect accurate stock levels.
6. Prepare equipment and materials for field-based engineers, recording issues accurately for audit purposes and tracking usage trends.
7. Plan and execute timely stock checks, seeking approval and planning the process with management.
8. Maintain a tidy and safe stores area, report risks immediately, and suggest solutions, including cost estimations.
9. Manage expectations and conduct of field engineers regarding stock requests, fostering collaborative relationships.
10. Contribute to continuous service improvement, ensuring policies comply with legislation and regulations.
11. Uphold confidentiality when handling personal and customer data.
12. Perform other duties as required.
